Hello everyone I hope you are all well.
We are delighted to announce that we will be holding our annual memorial football tournament at Watford FC – The Dome on the 9th of October this year from 10-4pm. We are looking for 20 teams to come together to make this our biggest tournament to date. To do this we need you and your contacts to get involved!
The registration fee is £250 per team with all proceeds going to the Josh Hanson Trust who work to help enable us to continue to raise awareness of violent crime while supporting vulnerable children and young people and victims of violent crime by sharing Josh’s story. We have reached over 10k young people to date while also delivering over 500 121 targeted art intervention sessions in both primary and secondary schools this year alone.
Unfortunately knife crime and serious violent crime is on the rise year on year and our work has never been more in demand. Sharing Josh’s story continues to have positive impacts. Young people pledging to not carry a knife is the most impactful response that we can expect and we have heard from many who have done just that. The impact of violent crime is far reaching and victims of crime are left in its wake. Here we are working with victims of crime to help them to recover from trauma through our art intervention and peer support service.
This year’s tournament is being held 2 days before Josh’s 6 year anniversary so let’s make this year a year to remember in his memory. We would love to hear from you if you would like to take part this year and put a football team forward. Please share our upcoming event with your friends, family and contacts.
