We are looking to raise an additional £30,000 in funds to help us get our own premises with overheads covered for one year so that we can deliver practical skills to vulnerable young people and their families while offering support directly and indirectly. With youth clubs practically non existent and services slim on the ground we are filling the gap and we need your help. As a community we can make positive changes lets see how far we can go towards securing a venue.
The goal of £30,000 is ambitious I know but to run a base for a year including overheads and services is a small fortune an Art Therapist for just half a day once a month is £250.00 alone!
Once we have a base we will be asking professionals to give up their time for free for one afternoon a week so that we can run workshops to introduce young people and their families to various trades from painting and decorating, carpentry and plastering to beauty therapy and floristry to name a few. We would also use the space to hold support groups offering a safe place to share and find out about other service providers, charities and community projects.
