About Us

We are on a quest to change the story about knife crime – can you help us make it happen?

Raise Awareness

We raise awareness of the effects of knife crime in schools, colleges and universities, allowing us to reach those aged 24 and under and ensuring an early intervention.

Provide Opportunities

We run team-building activities that provide opportunities for young people to connect with others, increase confidence and self-esteem and improve community development.

Deliver Support

We deliver much-needed support, advice and practical help to the families and friends of those who have lost loved ones to knife crime, murder and manslaughter.

Prevent Knife Crime

We work with various public sector organisations & Government agencies on initiatives to help prevent more devastating deaths amongst young people.

About us

As you will have seen from our homepage, we have a big, bold mission and a powerful vision.

We are on a quest to change the story about knife crime – but we can’t do it on our own and we are so grateful to everyone that has helped us so far.

Over 40,000 of you have followed us on social media, helping us to spread the word about the difference we are trying to make.

Since Josh’s devastating murder in October 2015, every day has been a challenge, but we are very proud of what we have achieved in his memory.

Our very first event was a tandem skydive on Josh’s birthday, just four months after his death. We were granted charity status on 1st December 2016 and, since then, we have held Football Tournaments, Fun Days, 5K Fun Runs and Workshops. Through our fundraising events, and with support from The Waitrose Community-Funding Project, the Halifax Bank, Brent Cross Match Funding and the Lottery Fund we are changing the story about the knife crime.

Donation

The Josh Hanson Charitable Trust aims to promote knife crime awareness to children and young adults. By providing support, recreational and leisure time activities provided in the interest of social welfare, we aim to help young people advance in life as mature and responsible individuals.

Our aim

Our aim is to help and encourage children and youths to see that there are many ways to assertively express themselves while gaining self-esteem, self-respect and confidence in a positive way.

Our fundraising will help to secure safe and accessible facilities where art, creative skills and physical exercise are encouraged, supported and delivered. We also aim to promote, for the benefit of the public, the efficiency of the police in London and to promote good citizenship and greater public participation in the prevention and solution of knife crime in the area.
