About Us

We are on a quest to change the story about violent crime and to support victims – can you help us make it happen?

Raise Awareness

We raise awareness of the effects of violent crime in schools, colleges and universities, allowing us to reach those aged 24 and under and ensuring an early intervention.

Provide Opportunities

We run team-building activities that provide opportunities for young people to connect with others, increase confidence and self-esteem and improve community development.

Deliver Support

We deliver much-needed support, advice and practical help to the families and friends of those who have lost loved ones to violent crime, murder and manslaughter.

Prevent Violent Crime

We work with various public sector organisations & Government agencies on initiatives to help prevent more devastating deaths amongst young people.

About us

Our mission is to save lives and to help create a fairer, more compassionate society

We support victims of violent crime through art therapy, workshops and offering advice on victims’ rights.

We campaign for victims’ rights through Josh’s Law, and our work with victim support bodies and local and national authorities.

We work to prevent violent youth crime through our events programme and our workshops in schools and communities, and by telling Josh’s story.

Guided by compassion and expertise by experience, The Josh Hanson Trust offers children, young people and their families the opportunities and support they need to connect, understand, and cope with the long-term impact of crime and trauma.

Established in 2016 after the unprovoked fatal knife attack of Josh Hanson, aged 21 years in 2015, we support children, young people and their families who are part of the criminal justice system and who are victim’s and survivor’s of violent crime.

Donate

The Josh Hanson Charitable Trust aims to promote violent crime awareness to children and young adults. By providing support, recreational and leisure time activities provided in the interest of social welfare, we aim to help young people advance in life as mature and responsible individuals.

Our aim

Our aim is to help and encourage children and youths to see that there are many ways to assertively express themselves while gaining self-esteem, self-respect and confidence in a positive way.

Our fundraising will help to secure safe and accessible facilities where art, creative skills and physical exercise are encouraged, supported and delivered. We also aim to promote, for the benefit of the public, the efficiency of the police in London and to promote good citizenship and greater public participation in the prevention and solution of violent crime in the area.
