Hello everyone, I hope you are well.
This past month has been another challenge for Brooke, myself, family and friends. Another month without justice for Josh another month with no answers and another month that I have lived when my beautiful Son has not.
It is heartbreaking living a new moment or a new experience and not being able to share them with Josh and nothing has changed in these past 19months. The simple things that we all take for granted, like seeing the sun rise, smelling the fresh grass or looking at the stars, mean so much more when you can no longer share them with your loved ones. Everything in my life is so different now, so much quieter and bland without Josh. Brooke and I sit for hours just talking about all of the wonderful memories we shared together, we laugh, we cry but most of all we just stare into the distance searching our brains trying to comprehend what has happened and still we are left dumbfounded, lost and in shock. Our lives have been altered dramatically, we are trying to navigate through life without fear but instead with love but it gets increasingly hard. Everyday we relive our pain not just waking up with the empty space that has been left where Josh once was but to also have to feel the pain of those who have lost a loved one to knife crime. The memory of being told that Josh was dead and had been stabbed in the neck around this very time 19 months ago feels like I am being told right now, the pain doesn’t fade and neither do the memories they are as they were then, a nightmare, only one we will never wake up from.
While we do all we can to get justice we still look for ways to spread the word further and further in the hope that justice is served and we are humbled by the support we have received and continue to receive everyday. Thank you for all you do to help us and thank you to each and everyone one of you for lifting us up when we are down.
