Hello everyone I hope you are all well.
With only a few days left before our 5k fun run in memory of Josh and a celebration of Josh’s 23rd birthday, I hope you have managed to get some practice in, ???♀️??.
The day is also about raising awareness to knife crime and the prevention of knife crime. All funds raised on the day will help our charity to continue with our justice for Josh campaign and to fund a much needed youth centre.
The centre will aim to provide support and activities which will help develop skills, capacities and capabilities to enable those to participate in society as mature and responsible individuals.
I know just how important it was for me to have had a youth club throughout my young adult life. I learnt many skills that I would not have had the opportunity to learn at school, along with a better understanding of problem solving and working together in a team.
Knowledge is power and everyone has the ability to discover something new that can also have a positive impact to their lives. With knife crime on the rise we need to do all we can to help find positive solutions and show young people who are disaffected that they have the power to make changes.
To show a untied thumbs down to knife crime, I will be asking you all at the to take part in a group photo in support of of Antiknifuk2017 campaign. Danny the founder will also be taking individual photos to upload to his FB page. If you would be willing to take part I would be most grateful. All participants will receive a free justice for Josh Hanson T Shirt so please join us by wearing yours during the run too ??.
