“We strongly welcome the amendments to the Victims and Courts Bill, which will help transform victims’ rights. However, I am deeply disappointed that the government has chosen not to name these changes Josh’s Law,” said Tracey Hanson, CEO, speaking earlier today.
“This decision does not honour the seven years of campaigning by myself and the Trust that drove this reform. It does not just ignore my son Josh and what we have been through as a family, but the hundreds of families and victims who we continue to advocate for through our charity.
“Naming this bill Josh’s Law would immediately signpost families to The Josh Hanson Trust. It would make our campaign for victim rights stronger, building our community, so we can further support, inform and campaign on behalf of victims and their families.”
